The Society has written to the Welsh Government asking it to support the designation as Scheduled Ancient Monuments (SAM) of two important lead mine sites, Esgair Fraith and Esgair Hir, in the Cambrian Mountains east of Tal y Bont. The site is rich in industrial arcchaeology, which is threatened by fly tipping, off-roading and other activities. It needs the greater protection of SAM designation.
