Bute Energy have announced a public consultation around their latest wind farm proposal.  Waun Hesgog is a massive proposal for 37 turbines up to 220m high which (if built) would stretch from the east and north east side of Talybont up to Moel y LLyn above Cwm Einion.  At this stage, “consultation” just means an opportunity for them to tell us more details about their project and how marvellous it would be; it is not part of the formal planning process as yet.

This non-statutory consultation period is now closed. It included a meeting at Talybont on August 19th which CMS members attended. The formal statutory consultation is expected to be launched in Spring 2026.
