At it stands at the moment, the southern banks of the Dyfi not protected, whereas the northern banks are part of Eryri National Park. I wonder if there is benefit in taking the boundary from Tre’r Ddol to the Dyfi to link in with the National Park, running the AONB boundary along the Dyfi up to the Ceredigion/Powys/Gwynedd triple point. This would include valuable birdlife areas. Then from (just short of) Dyfi junction station, follow the Ceredigion/Powys county boundary inland.

The Dyfi estuary already has considerable environmental protection SSSI and SPA (plus Cors Fochno & Dyfi are a NNR and a Ramsar – International wetlands site).
