Listening-project-Rhayader-workshop

The Listening project workshops are well underway, with the second having been held on 1 October at the Lost ARC in Rhayader.  As in Llandovery, a small group of locals generated a large number of views, and ideas for the better management of mid-Wales as well as the Cambrian uplands specifically.  Indeed, one participant came up with a total re-brand for a possible National Landscape (the designation formerly known as Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty): it should be called Calon Cymru (Heart of Wales) National Landscape, the better to reflect the centrality of the region geographically, historically and culturally.  After all, let’s not forget that Strata Florida was the site of Llewellyn II’s assembly and Owen Glyndwr held his Parliament in Machynlleth!

So, why not join us at one of the remaining workshops: in Tregaron on 18 October, Llanidloes on 4 November or Ponterwyd on 21 November?  It’s going to take a lot of work to boil the discussions down into a single report, but the team from Coventry University who’re running the workshops with us (backed by a grant from the British Academy)  are undaunted.  We’d love to hear your point of view!
