In order to help his mother with moving house, Neal is having to postpone this walk until 30 April. All other details unchanged.

Neal Batchelor will lead a walk up to Stallions Crag/Craig y March, at the head of Cwm Gerwin on the shoulder of Pumlumon Fawr.  Starting from the car park at Eisteddfa Gurig Farm, the walk will cover 7 miles with 593m (1900 ft) of height gain. The ground is steep and rough in very remote terrain but is worth it to reach Craig y March, by far the most sensational feature in the Pumlumon massif, and an excellent subject for photographers. This outing, using the same approach as when previously led for the Society some while back by Ken Jones, a Zen hermit who occupied a cave just below the summit of the crag, will take the shortest route from the road to the Crag.

The summit of Pumlumon Fawr often offers far-reaching views

The return route will see us visit the summit of Pumlumon Fawr, hopefully for some fine views before we descend back to the farm.

Watch out for the Members’ Email with joining instructions, closer to the time.
